Men’s Survivor Group

Men’s Survivor Group (MSG) is a free and confidential peer support group for men who experienced sexual abuse as children who identify as men and/or having survived boyhood. MSG will explore themes related to healing in a supportive environment through peer support and facilitated discussion.

The group will be co-facilitated by the Advocacy Center’s trauma therapist Maia Campbell, LCSW and peer facilitator Mike Koplinka-Loehr.

When is MSG held?
MSG will run for nine weeks this spring, exact dates to be announced soon!

Are there any considerations for participating in MSG?
In order to foster a safe enough space to discuss challenging and vulnerable topics, we ask all participants to prioritize attending all nine group sessions.

Challenging themes and materials may arise in this group, including the possibility of hearing references to or descriptions of abuse. For this reason we ask that all participants be actively engaged in their own therapy.

How do I join MSG?
Complete the interest form: https://bit.ly/ACmenssurvivorgroup and/or reach out to Maia through the Advocacy Center (contact information below.)

What if I’m not sure MSG is the right fit?
Fill out an interest form anyway! Part of the process is doing an intake with potential participants to discuss the group in more detail. As facilitators we will work with the participants to determine if the group feels like a good fit.
