Wear Blue April 3 for Child Abuse Prevention Month!

April is Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Month. To honor survivors of childhood abuse, the Advocacy Center is sharing some actions people in Tompkins County can take to raise awareness and show their commitment to ending child abuse.

The Prevent Child Abuse NY (PCANY) theme for 2023 is “Working Together to Strengthen Families.” As a recent email from PCANY said, “We can prevent child abuse by removing and challenging barriers to healthy parenting. Throughout CAP Month in April, we will be focusing on what communities can do to strengthen and support families. A strong, supportive community that values parenting and families makes a safe and healthy environment for kids. Parents who know they have support and access to resources are better parents.”

Will you help us share this theme throughout Tompkins County?
