JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: Hotline Services Coordinator

The Advocacy Center of Tompkins County (www.actompkins.org) seeks a Hotline Services
Coordinator to oversee our hotline services including hiring, training and supervision of on-call
client services advocates, as well as the planning and administration of the day to day operations of
our 24/7 hotline.

Located in Ithaca, NY, the Advocacy Center provides a wide range of support services to adult and
youth survivors of domestic violence, child sexual abuse and sexual assault. Services provided
through our hotline include crisis counseling, emotional support, safety planning, advocacy,
accompaniment to services including orders of protection, shelter assessments, post assault
medical exams, interviews with law enforcement or caseworkers, and information and referrals.
We are an organization whose roots are based in feminism, social change, and victim rights.
We are dedicated professionals with a strong work ethic who also promote self-care and wellness as
we value a healthy work/life balance. We provide extensive training to our staff and are committed
to strong supervisory support and professional development opportunities.

The ideal person for this job is someone who is collaborative, has supervision experience and
experience providing crisis/support services while operating from an anti racist, trauma-informed,
and harm reduction lens.

This is a Full Time (35 hours week) position with an hourly pay rate of $21.25. The person in this
position will share in a rotation of afterhours on call supervisory support to staff.

Our generous Benefits Package includes an annual financial contribution ($6,675 in 2021 prorated
to start date) towards our cafeteria health benefits program (includes individual medical, dental or
dependant care benefits or expense reimbursements), generous time off (2 weeks vacation the first
year increasing thereafter, 16 paid holidays, 5 personal days, sick days) and annual retirement
contributions after 3 years of employment.

Position: On Call Advocate

Salary: Full time $16.34/hr with generous benefits

Start Date: ASAP

After Hours On Call Requirement:
Must be able to respond in person to Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY within 45 minutes
Our progressive social service agency seeks an On Call Advocate who will work independently and as part
of our advocacy services team. The person in this position will respond to calls that come in through our
hotline M-F 9am-5pm. They will assess caller’s needs and provide immediate support, information,
referrals and advocacy services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child sexual abuse, as
well as to non-offending family members, professionals and others who are supporting victims.
The On Call Advocate participates in a paid rotation of after-hours on-call (weeknight, weekend, holiday),
with other client services staff. There are usually 4-5 after hours shifts each month and a stipend is paid.
In person response may be required. Applicants must be able to navigate stairs, periods of sitting.
Standing and movement required. Vehicle and valid driver’s license is required.

Position: Domestic Violence Advocate

Job Function: Applicants must be able to navigate stairs, periods of sitting. Standing and
movement required. vehicle for travel throughout the county and/or transporting clients as
needed and valid driver’s license is required. Participation in a paid rotation of after-hours
on-call (weeknight, weekend, and holiday), with other client services staff is required. Must be
able to respond in person to Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY within 45 minutes.

Our progressive social service agency seeks a Domestic Violence Advocate, who will provide emotional support and advocacy services to victims of domestic violence and their children.

The Domestic Violence Advocate provides systems advocacy on behalf of the survivor and accompanies them to meetings with law enforcement, prosecutors, and caseworkers, and to court.  They attend bi-monthly domestic violence  multidisciplinary team meetings with prosecutors, probation, mental health and child protection and regularly attend Tompkins County  Integrated Domestic Violence Court with and on behalf of domestic violence survivors.
